Edward Leaf is dedicated to the social change through music movement. He has previously worked for the YOA Orchestra of the Americas on projects throughout the Americas and was also a graduate of the inaugural "Global Leaders" program which provides training to young musicians aspiring to use music as a positive force in their community. He is currently in charge of Development and Operations for BRIDGES. Mr. Leaf is an active double bass player and teacher in the Washington, DC region. He has performed with numerous professional orchestras such as the Virginia Symphony, Richmond Symphony, and National Philharmonic, among others. He has held teaching positions at Susquehanna University (PA) and is currently on faculty at Shepherd and Towson Universities and teaches privately throughout the area. He completed his studies at the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University.
Bonny Tynch founded BRIDGES in 2013 as an after school program targeting under served elementary students and is the Co- Founder of BRIDGES: Harmony through Music as a 501(c)3 organization with Edward Leaf. Bonny holds degrees in choral music education from East Carolina University and George Mason University. In the summer of 2016, She was awarded the Artist-Teacher Diploma from the Choral Music Experience Institute under the direction of Founder, Doreen Rao . She is a frequent national presenter in vocal pedagogy and rehearsal techniques for developing choirs and in vocal development within Orff-Schulwerk Pedagogy and has studied at the Orff Institute in Salzburg, Austria. Bonny is an enthusiastic adjudicator and clinician for choral festivals and honor choirs and passionately believes in the artistic potential of young souls. She has 15 years of teaching experience in public schools in Northern Virginia and is in her ninth season as a Youth Chorus Conductor for the Fairfax Choral Society.
